My legal career has spanned a 35 year period and I was an accountant and a banker for several years. This combination of skills allows me not only to assess the issues in the dispute, but to approach it from and explain to litigants the economics of a resolution. My trial skills also allow me to suggest a likely outcome, i.e., the case is further litigated. My practice covers contractual claims, business torts, unfair competition, insolvency, intellectual property, partnership and corporate shareholder disputes, with an industry specific expertise in the apparel, textile and soft goods business. I have experience dealing with contentious and passionate litigants and have developed strategies to nonetheless assist them to understand and acknowledge the benefits of settlement.
As a practitioner, I am keenly aware of the dynamics which lawyers face as advocates for those clients and incorporate those concerns in my mediation approach.
I have been successful in settling approximately 75% of the cases which I have mediated by combining my experience as lawyer, practitioner, my industry training as a mediator, and my financial background and expertise.
I am available to conduct mediations at my office or other locations as the parties may desire.
I have completed all training necessary to be a certified Mediator. I am a neutral on the Los Angeles Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel.
